Rooted in Faith, Growing in Community

Thurston Methodist Church is an independent in the Methodist tradition with a more than 200 year history.

In 1880/81, a Methodist pastor, Rev. Francis Thurston, served the town. Due to his passion for Jesus Christ and love of the local people, the town was named after him. The membership of the church began in 1815 with 23 people meeting in a log cabin.

Today, the church has over 150 members on the roll with an average weekly attendance of 75.

In addition to weekly worship services, our activities include Women’s, Men’s and Youth groups, home groups, mission trips, Operation Christmas Child, and various fundraisers throughout the year. Click on the “Activities & Events” link for information on current activities.
