Thurston Methodist Church is an independent church in the Methodist tradition for over 200 years.

In 1880/81, a Methodist pastor, Rev. Francis Thurston, served the town. Due to his passion for Jesus Christ and love of the local people, the town was named after him. The membership of the church began in 1815 with 23 people meeting in a log cabin.

In 1968, the church joined the United Methodist Church, and in 2023, the church voted to become an independent Methodist church.

Today, the church has over 150 members on the roll with an average weekly attendance of 75.

In addition to weekly worship services, our activities include Women’s, Men’s, and Youth groups, home groups, mission trips, Operation Christmas Child, Jr. CHand various fundraisers throughout the year.
